Nina Proudman - Steal her style

If you cast your mind back to here a few weeks ago when we were talking pressed metal panels and their many uses - inspired by Sophie & Dale - you might also remember my confession that Offspring is yet another of my favourite places to visit in TV land. Soooo, you can imagine my oohs and ahhs when I came across Wee Birdy's post yesterday Get the look of Nina's apartment from Offspring! Rebecca (aka Wee Birdy) has absolutely nailed this one. Even down to the candles... Pictures below, but you have to hop over here for the lowdown of where to actually get it (because as much as I wish I'd thought of it myself, I didn't - WB did...)

AND.... if Nina's interior style isn't enough to satisfy, you can hop over to Styling You for Nikki's tips on her wardrobe as well! Seriously impressive - you can pick up a virtual shopping list of the outfits worn by Nina each episode with links to the stores... Which brings me to a question - if Nina's boots (that I have coveted all season) happened to be available, in my size, half price, with free shipping - AND the style was even called Tina (seriously) - wouldn't you say I needed to buy them? It's a sign right?

The house you HAVE to see/Hommage to a craft maniac

Here's a funny story for you - last night while I was trawling (read: wasting time on) Pinterest, I stumbled across this gorgeous room. Naturally, being such a sweet rainbow space I pinned it immediately to show it to you... The funny part is coming...
When I went to the source to check it out (because it's a really groovy little NZ blog called Mousehouse - you should have a look at it!). To my surprise, what I found was that this stunning room isn't a room at all - it's a dollhouse! Not any dollhouse I've ever seen I'll tell you that much! Take a look...

Details in this place are paramount. The roof and exterior walls are painted in the exact same shades as the actual house the family live in...

Here's the master bedroom (it's nicer than my bedroom people!)

The bathroom... (Note the stunning papered feature wall! I think I want to live here...)

Oh my giddy aunt - there's a craft room...

Orla Kiely in the kitchen! (This woman is a crafting maniac! I think I love her!)

AND it even has electricity!!!! (That's it - I'm moving in - Megan, I'll be needing your address please!)
Now let me tell you, there are many more rooms! You haven't seen the pink bedroom! The living room! And you need to witness the entrance hall! Megan has even posted comparison shots to their corresponding "real" rooms. This is one of my favourite blog post finds of all time. You must have a look here to get the whole story. Megan, I am in awe of you. You've done the most incredible job and Amelie is one lucky little lady.

Saturday Site Crush

I've shown you pictures from this fabbo little destination in the past, but my feelings for them have grown over time and I felt it was time I formally introduced you to DecoPeques. Here are a few images from over there to show you just how fabulous... (because we're all about the pretty).

Secrets to Raising Happy Kids

The lovely Nikki over at BellaMumma has been chatting with parenting guru, Michael Gross about raising happy kids. Pop over and visit to check out her 3 part series of valuable tips!

Salvation Jane - A new favourite

Familiar? Actor, Jane Hall can now add "blogger" to her list of achievements. It's a lovely place to visit and is fast becoming one of my faves. Salvation Jane is all about making your digs homely, colourful and personal without spending your next months salary.

Jane's home was recently featured in Real Living (another personal favourite) and her style is charmingly warm and eclectic.

Another reason to visit is her projects. This is the Love Heart Wall Jane created for her daughter Miss L's bedroom (who she says wishes her mother would stop redecorating her room!). You need to stop by Salvation Jane and have a read. I think I might love her.

Love it. Need it. Gotta have it...

1. This poster called Friends of Violet by Camilla Engman (who I've mentioned before) and Elizabeth Dunker. Get one here. And check out the Sweet Fine Day blog as well.

A treehouse for a bed?

Yes please! It even has a skylight!

Made with love for her daughter by Juli at The Slow Life, this bed is the bees knees! She even left the colour selection up to the new occupant - nice choice too! I love it. I would have really loved it when I was 6... And how about the size of that room! Apparently the treehouse is a winner with everyone who lays eyes on it too. On her blog (which you really must check out here), Juli reports that a bevvy of wee ones have leapt from the steps and even a few adults have ventured on up to check out the picture perfect digs. Well done Juli! You've inspired me!

Made by Joel in print!

Best book ever! One of my favourite blogs for quirky kids craft ideas (and especially good crafts for boys), Made By Joel, is about to enter the elite world of "published bloggers"! Joel Henriques is a stay at home dad who doesn't take things too seriously and loves spending time nurturing his kids' creativity - and that gets a massive double thumbs up from me. His new book, Made To Play, won't be available until October, but can be pre-ordered through Amazon. I dare to say this one's going to sell it's socks off so if you want one, better get your name on that list in a hurry. In the meantime, get your Joel fix here.

Happy Birthday BabyBites!

February marks the 2nd birthday of one of my favourite blogs BabyBites. To celebrate, the BB team have invited their favourite bloggers (including li'l ole me!!!) to guest post! Thanks BB! I'm so honoured... Hop on over and check out the blog and the cute doily bowls I made ...  Happy birthday BB!!

OMG Homemade Nutella!

After you've tried this...
You'll agree that this....
Is all this is good for!

Stella over at BraveTart won my heart and my tastebuds months ago. I love her blog. She makes me laugh and inspires me to bake. I think I might love her. Hop over here and check out her incredibly easy "reverse engineered" recipe fpr the tastiest treat around - without scary ingredients like "partially hydrogenated peanut oil" and "reduced minerals" like our good friends at Nutella include... I'd like to call it Nustella! Thanks Stella! You're amazing.x

Sneaky Healthy...

Question: Can you see any sign of a vegetable on this plate? Some spinach perhaps? A carrot? Well they're there.... Truly! My lovely friend Clara originally put me onto this trick, and the very clever Steph over at Bondville it seems is onto it too. These delectable looking brownies were served up to unsuspecting toddlers at Baby Bondville's 1st birthday party. The tactic is to puree. Puree puree puree. Old veges in the crisper that aren't quite good enough for a stirfry but are still too good for the bin? Puree. Whack them through a muffin mix, a bolognese, a brownie. Tricky huh?  Well, it wasn't her idea. (sorry Clara & Steph, they need to know...) This is just one of the clever "Simple Secrets" Jessica Seinfeld imparts in her book Deceptively Delicious.

Make it: Something fishy going on....

H and I made this cute Box Aquarium yesterday. (not this actual one, but one the same... ish) I found it at Made By Joel which is one of my absolute favourite craft blogs. Joel is a stay at home dad who is clearly very talented and dedicated to his kids (which is tops).

We made ours out of a crisps box and used paperclips instead of buttons on top of the box to tie the strings.  I also made the openings for the strings "slits" instead of holes so the fish can "swim" in the tank... H was so impressed with it he's been carrying it around all day today, showing the neighbours and telling everyone who's called the house all about it... and that's what makes it all worthwhile.

Joel even supplies the fish for your tank...

Resolution radar

We're well and truly into a new year now and it's time to make good on the resolutions we (perhaps drunkenly) made on friday night with that glass of bubbles in our hands. I know mine were all not only achievable but necessary, and it seems the delightfull Miss Maddie from Lil Magoolie is on the same page as me. She's whipped up these lovely printables to keep in view all year round so we can stay on track. I suspect Maddie has a connection to my brain somehow because she's so often on the money with what I need or think, and this time is no exception. I need to do every single thing on this poster and it's now hanging in my kitchen so I can get it all stamped into my head all year long... Click here for your own download - it even comes in two pretty colour palettes for you to choose from!

Blog Love: Feeling foodie

My family has a tradition of "taking turns" at having Christmas lunch/day at their house. This year is my turn. For some, the prospect of having 20 or so people rock up at their house and a 10kg turkey in the oven etc is something to be looked toward with fear and dread. I am not one of these people. I absolutely love it. In true last minute style, I've left my menu preparation till the last minute! But the good news is that I've found some fantastic food blogs (10 of them in fact), that you need to know about...

This is my new fave... TasteSpotting

And these run a close 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th....

I feel a tonne of craft projects coming on....

Steady yourself for a month of craft madness here at nooshloves! I am the proud new owner of not one, but two of Kelly Doust's incredible books, The Crafty Minx and The Crafty Kid and I do love to share...
Glue gun at the ready... Hold onto your hats!

And if you just can't wait until tomorrow - have a look here at Kelly's blog. I love her....
