DIY - A globe for your globe...

In our house at the moment there are a couple of obsessions going on. Hugh is obsessed with maps and globes (how on trend he is!), and I (as always) am completely absorbed in a world of DIY. So that makes this project that I found on OhDeeDoh just perfect for us to tackle. Hop over here for the full instructions.

This month's instalment of my Weekend Decorator projects in Home Beautiful are feeling very Noosh inspired. I had so much fun styling this shoot - from the pretty Laura Ashley wallpaper used to line the wardrobe down to the gorgeous Danish designed Princess and the Pea play set from Little Me, Little You. Everything was so pink, soft, delicate and pretty... So far from my usual world of boys with their bugs, mud and crashing cars!

Take a look - these projects really are minimum effort for maximum impact. The Wardrobe was done in a weekend, the rug can be put together in just a couple of hours and the wall art even less! And even on a shoestring budget you can achieve stunning results by creating individual pieces yourself!

Look what I made!!

Hello friends! Welcome back! I've just had such a lovely little holiday with my 3 boys - despite the rain! My two beautiful nieces came with us as well and with superpasses in hand we took on the theme parks. We all had so much fun. Hugh took his first ride on a rollercoaster (which is a massive deal as he's the biggest scaredy cat 5 year old you've ever met), and loved it so much he went on it another 4 times! The boys got to meet Bugs, Sylvester, Tweety and Daffy at MovieWorld and we got a great family portrait of us all hugging Bugs... A shark attack on the beach right outside our apartment slowed things down on the swimming in the sea progress, and being the clueless parent I am at times I think I made it worse by telling Hugh that the helicopters were looking for the shark because it might like the taste of people and come back again just like he likes McDonalds and wants to go there all the time... Probably not the best explanation I could have come up with... I also got myself completely addicted to the DrawSomething app and Instagram. I absolutely love Instagram! It's such a beautiful incentive to stop and take in your surroundings and share them with your friends. It's also inspiring following other creatives whose snaps you'd never get to see otherwise. Check it out if you haven't already - and if you want to have a look at my own inspiration you can follow me!

Anyway, enough about my holiday. Today I have for you a little peek at my transform projects that appear in the April issue of Home Beautiful. The postcard blind is my favourite project this month. And I fell in love so hard with that porcelain deer that I had to have him! He now lives in my living room. You can find him here

Ta-dah! Here are the three projects that I produced for Home Beautiful Magazine for the March issue.
I do love turning these horrific looking brown pieces of tired but solid furniture into pretty pieces to be loved again! What do you think?

Meet my new projects!

I'm super excited to be showing you these projects! These are the babies that have had me so busy over the past few months. I call them my babies because they, like my children have made my life feel that little bit more complete. I just love spending my days sanding, spraying and trawling through eBay for a bargain, almost as much as I love Home Beautiful magazine for giving me this new dream job!

The first story is from the January issue which all came and went over christmas, and the second one is in the current issue that's on sale now. (The finished black cabinet is also for sale on eBay at the moment in case you're after a gorgeous art deco black sideboard)

Now these are all very easy to do and the results are instant gratification in all of its spectacular glory. Why not give one a go this weekend? If you do you have to send me a pic!
