Nina Proudman - Steal her style

If you cast your mind back to here a few weeks ago when we were talking pressed metal panels and their many uses - inspired by Sophie & Dale - you might also remember my confession that Offspring is yet another of my favourite places to visit in TV land. Soooo, you can imagine my oohs and ahhs when I came across Wee Birdy's post yesterday Get the look of Nina's apartment from Offspring! Rebecca (aka Wee Birdy) has absolutely nailed this one. Even down to the candles... Pictures below, but you have to hop over here for the lowdown of where to actually get it (because as much as I wish I'd thought of it myself, I didn't - WB did...)

AND.... if Nina's interior style isn't enough to satisfy, you can hop over to Styling You for Nikki's tips on her wardrobe as well! Seriously impressive - you can pick up a virtual shopping list of the outfits worn by Nina each episode with links to the stores... Which brings me to a question - if Nina's boots (that I have coveted all season) happened to be available, in my size, half price, with free shipping - AND the style was even called Tina (seriously) - wouldn't you say I needed to buy them? It's a sign right?

Must have it now...

Absolutely loving online store Everything Begins at the moment.... Particularly smitten with this stunning rose gold and gun metal cuff that 281 clams will buy you. It comes in a matching necklace too, though I'm a little scared of the price of that one...

The knitted ottoman/pouffe

Don't you love the knitted pouffe trend going around?

While some of these lovely decorator items from well known Scandinavian designers can be picked up for around $400, there are also less expensive alternatives. Spotlight are doing fantastic copies at the moment for under $80. They're available in a great range of colours from teals to charcoals - all very on trend. So, looks like I might be able to have one after all....

All occassion gift wrap

Oh yes, a handy thing to have around - especially if you're as disorganised as me! This clever gift wrap serves for any occassion, simply highlight the event you want! Available here.

Like a torpedo!

Check out these totally gorgeous torpedo scooters designed by Jerry Koza over at Prague Art & Design.  At $1100 big ones though, these puppies won't be turning up on too many footpaths I'm sure. Pity, the design and paintjob are completely wonderful.

The perfect baby gift...

I have to say, the creativity benchmark on Etsy is getting very high! Wouldn't this be the perfect first birthday gift?  Buy one here.

Grey and Yellow Etsy finds...

My favourite colour combo of the moment, grey and yellow, works everywhere.
And we all know Etsy is a great place to find unique handmade pieces.
Take a look at what happens when these two worlds collide...

Found: Do you knit knit?

I'm not a knitter. I was when I was about 8 - my grandmother taught me to knit and I made the obligatory scarf but not much needlework since.... Lately however, I've been pondering how great it would be to knock up a scarf, or if I was feeling really ambitious, a beanie...

That's where this great little range of products comes in and they're perfect for these cold wintery days. Knit Knit create knitting kits for creative people and are perfect for beginners! There are lots of cool patterns to choose from (that's a Classic scarf above) and the kits come complete with needles, wool and very basic and easy to understand instructions (and lots of pictures... we like that).
I like the Twisty Snood (above) and the Hood (below)...
So, if like me you've been considering it, perhaps this is the way to learn? After all, who's going to knit cute stuff for your grand-kidlets if you don't know how?

On my wishlist

I've been looking for something to hang above our bed for a while now... think I just found it! And it's my birthday in a matter of weeks... think I could get away with it?

Finders Keepers Wrap Up

Hurray! I did manage to sneak away from the fam over the weekend to check out the Finders Keepers Market after all! And I'm glad I did because it was "tops"! Here are my favourite finds...

1. Puddin'head
Gorgeous hand printed linens by Richard McAdam, sold as is or stretched onto canvas or made into cushions. Really loved these hand embroidered versions below.  Check out the site here.

2. A Skulk of Foxes
Stunning original jewellery designs. Check out their site here.

This clock was my favourite piece. I have just the spot for it too. One for the birthday list I guess... sigh

3. Two Layers of Cells
Limited edition lighting designs by Jane Crappsley. So many cool ideas! But the best one of all had to be the DIY Lightwrap Kit (below). It comes with all the elements, including the textas, for your kiddo (or you if you like) to draw and colour your own uniquely you design onto your lightshade. Genius! Check out more of Jane's work here...

4. Page Thirty Three
Last but not least, PG33. How divine is the jigsaw puzzle piece plate? And yes, the plates to fit together, so you can run three in a row as a platter or just get cosy with the one you sit beside at the next dinner party... Gives new meaning to sharing a plate huh? Love this design! Have a look at the rest of the Page Thirty Three range here.

Finders Keepers...

It's that time of year again - The Finders Keepers Markets are on this weekend in Sydney at the Carriageworks - and what a pretty poster! It sums up the market perfectly with it's vintage vibe, illustration-ey, layery, happy thing going on. If you've never been (and I actually haven't!) here's your chance. I'll be there scouting the stalls for the perfect gift for my incredible girlfriend's milestone birthday this weekend (nothing like leaving it till the last minute...) I'll also be scouting for some inspirational finds to bring to you over the coming weeks! Maybe I'll see you there? Ooh, and before I forget - check out their blog as well!

Brazillian brilliance

The brand that brought back the thong, now has a new shoe for us to fall in love with. Meet Havaiana's new baby brother, the hightop. If what they did for thongs is anything to go by, these hightops will be super-comfy, affordable and they'll just about walk off the shelves... (sorry I had to get that pun in there..) Love the miniature thong detail too...
Then there's the "ballerina", which apparently boasts the same sole material as the Havaiana thongs (so, feels like walking on a sponge - in a good way)...

And the sneaker... Hmmm, just in time for Autumn... How thoughtful.

Alyssa Milano in Isabella Oliver

Alyssa Milano's been shooting herself in front of the mirror. On wednesday, she posted this shot of herself wearing the Isabella Oliver Maternity “Stripe Ruched T-Shirt Dress” on her website. And I have to say she looks incredibly hot (as usual!).

Thanks to my favourite invention (shopping online) You can get some Isabella Oliver action delivered to your door. I mean, what pregnant wants to have to leave home for new wardrobe options? The Isabella Oliver Maternity "Stripe Ruched T-Shirt Dress" retails for approximately $159.00 USD and can be purchased here. Take a look around the store for lots of stylish and comfy (very important) preg fashion options... Go forth and shop!

Love it. Need it. Gotta have it...
