Nina Proudman - Steal her style
If you cast your mind back to here a few weeks ago when we were talking pressed metal panels and their many uses - inspired by Sophie & Dale - you might also remember my confession that Offspring is yet another of my favourite places to visit in TV land. Soooo, you can imagine my oohs and ahhs when I came across Wee Birdy's post yesterday Get the look of Nina's apartment from Offspring! Rebecca (aka Wee Birdy) has absolutely nailed this one. Even down to the candles... Pictures below, but you have to hop over here for the lowdown of where to actually get it (because as much as I wish I'd thought of it myself, I didn't - WB did...)

Which brings me to a question - if Nina's boots (that I have coveted all season) happened to be available, in my size, half price, with free shipping - AND the style was even called Tina (seriously) - wouldn't you say I needed to buy them? It's a sign right?

Grey is my favourite, and black is so striking, white always looks so clean and fresh and pure... but what a kid wants is colour. And lots of it. Here are 7 great kids rooms that pack a punch in the palette department and will get the thumbs up from 9 out of 10 kids out there.
The Block: Room reveal Week 2
As a fan of Sophie and Dale's vintage style on Channel 9's The Block this year, tonight's Room Reveal was a hands down win in my book. Unlike last week, they found a beautiful balance between the Luxe and the old with their master suite. I just adore the Maison Jar lighting Sophie has used in both rooms so far and the distressed doors they used for their bedhead looks fantastic. If only all old doors had such gorgeous colours in their layers of paint... But my favourite part of the design was the bedside tables. Sophie used a found dresser with Queen Anne legs and had it split down the middle to create two matching side tables which were then attached to the wall with their legs at the front. Very clever. Very sylish. Take a look around... Do you think they deserved to win? I'm happy the boys won though, as long as it wasn't that awful Dan and Dani couple! Soooo arrogant. I'll enjoy disliking them this year...
Vogue do kids rooms
If anyone can do a good kids room it should be Vogue Living right? And they have! A whole bunch of super yummy spaces packed with great ideas and shot by some of my favourite interiors photographers, including Richard Powers, Chris Court and Petrina Tinslay...
This first one is divine. I adore the maps inside the kids wardrobe doors.

Wish my boys would keep their shoes this tidy too!
And how about that slatted bed space? Gelato colours on raw timber = decor goodness.
This next room kills me. Always a sucker for a vintage look, the artwork over the bed and blue cabinet are to die for. And How about Chris Court's pictures? Oh brother of Sibella, I do envy your creative family gene pool!
Old world charm in abundance with this layered mix of vintage inspired fabrics. And aren't we glad minimalism seems to have had it's day in the sun?
Harry and Max must wake up happy each day surrounded by such a charming contemporary space. Loving the matching striped upholstered bedheads. Sometimes you just can't beat a red,white and blue palette with a good dose of symmetry can you?
Sick of white?
Sick of white? Sometimes I wonder how much of the trend toward minimal design in kids spaces with white walls and vintage toys is for the parents and not the kids. Surely kids would be happier surrounded by bright hues. What do you think? Here's some colour burst bravery to cure your ills...
