DIY - A globe for your globe...

In our house at the moment there are a couple of obsessions going on. Hugh is obsessed with maps and globes (how on trend he is!), and I (as always) am completely absorbed in a world of DIY. So that makes this project that I found on OhDeeDoh just perfect for us to tackle. Hop over here for the full instructions.

Sweet little girls space!

What a sweet little space! Love the light shade and the tree on the wall!
Did you know you can whip up a similar wall decal yourself with washi tape?

To die for lighting DIY idea

Oh wow! I can't gush about this idea enough. It's pure genius! I actually wrestled with whether or not I should show you  y'know? I've been trawling eBay since I first saw it and can't find a globe that's right to save myself - I figured the last thing I needed was competition in bidding for one if I found it... But then I'm not one to keep a great idea to myself and so I'm sharing... But if you win my auction you better watch out!

One super-cute kids bathroom idea

Oh the decadence of a kids bathroom huh? That's on the (very long) list for my next house. And amidst the renovation plans for my "next" house, will be this dreamy lighting idea...

Lovely lighting

I needed a little break from all things kids today - so here's a gorgeous hallway lighting idea I found over at  Skonahem

Trend alert: Birdcage lights

Apart from both of these kids rooms being super cute, they also have a lighting style in common. We've all seen the french inspired, country style chic use of the vintage birdcage as a decorator piece right? Well how about if we take it off the shelf and hang it from the ceiling? I'm all for useful decor. And I have to admit that it kind of works. Pretty well actually. It's like a new take on the chandelier. I think I'm a fan. What do you think? Putting a bird in it might make things more interesting... Or then again, maybe not...

Let there be light

When you're talking about winning recipes for a stunning kids space, nothing beats a healthy dose of natural light. Throw in some white walls and... voila! Yum.

More bed-bingeing

Oh my giddy aunt! It's a loft bed with storage dream!
I LOVE these! I love so many things about this room...
*More nanna rugs! Possibly even more gorgeous than the vintage find in Style to steal...
*The locket mirrors above each bed.
*The storage the storage the storage...
*The beech flooring. It gives such a sense of light and space.
*Pale yellow walls (not normally but...) note how the pale timber sits so beautifully against this hue.

Dulux do a really good one similar called Camomile Cream

Looks good in an adult space as well. And there's no question it would work well in a nursery...

Dreamy room does have one minor drawback though.
It leads me back down the path of the $30,000 attic conversion.
If this was our forever house I'd consider it. But it's not. I have dreams about a californian bungalow, on a corner block near the water. (sigh) But we can go into that another time...

Here's one more stunning bunk solution for good  measure...
Which one's your favourite?
