Like a torpedo!

Check out these totally gorgeous torpedo scooters designed by Jerry Koza over at Prague Art & Design. At $1100 big ones though, these puppies won't be turning up on too many footpaths I'm sure. Pity, the design and paintjob are completely wonderful.

There aren't many things I love more than thoughtful design. Thoughtful design that encourages creative play? Now you're really singing my song. The clever clogs over at Toideloi have done just that with The Stackhouse. This is genius! Take a look at how great this is please... I want one! (for the boys of course...)

Make it: Stick horse

So first thing I should tell you is that I'm devastated that I only just found this. See, I have just spent the day sewing Stick Horses from a fabulous 70's style caramel printed corduroy that I bought at The Remnant Warehouse on friday (dangerous but fantastic place if you happen to live in Sydney. Cheap fabric and bag loads of inspiration). Why am I making Stick Horses I hear you say - for Noah's party on saturday... The reason for the devastation is that these look so much better than mine... ho hum. I'll run through how I made mine when I show you them post-party, but in the meantime, have a look here for the full tutorial for these ones at LightBlueGrey. Kids creating monsters

So tonight I stumbled across this fantastic concept by mega US toy store, FAO Schwartz. It's a Make Your Own Custom Monster Kit and it's got to be one of the best "turn your kids drawing into a..." concepts I've seen. The kicker is that it's $250 a pop! Yeeow! And going by the comments on Thingamababy where it was posted, I'd say the general consensus is that that's outrageous.

That's where Deann and Missing Monsters comes in... See, Deann has a similar business, also in the states, only difference is that instead of drawing your monster, you fill out a missing monsters report describing the monster in detail and pay a small "recovery fee" of $30 + shipping.

Deann and the Monster Squad then go out and find your missing monster! Photographs are taken of the location your monster was found and a letter detailing what he/she was up to at the time are delivered in an official looking envelope marked "Confidential", together with the monster. The attention to detail is incredible. Each monster is packaged with "Handle with Care" and "Monster Inside" stickers and a member of the Monster Squad calls your child to let them know the monster has been located and will arrive in the mail soon.

Upon a fold

Once upon a time there was a stunning website that sold exquisite pieces sourced from all around the globe. The thing that made this store so very special was that every one of these incredible products was made from... paper. The store's name was Upon a Fold...

Created by Justine & Matt, both Graphic designers (so they must be awesome), a husband and wife team based in Sydney with an uncompromising passion for paper.

How divine? Wishboats.

Uber cool house for doll-types...

I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw this. Stunning architecture. All that glass! How incredible is the double-height, feature stone-work running through the spine of the indoor and outdoor space? Would you believe me if I told you it's a doll house? Honest! I'm flabbergasted!

It's called Emerson house and it's available from Brincadada, along with Bennett house, a five-level fantasy pad for plastic people, (with no stairs between levels one and two or between levels four and five as Hugh pointed out to me...).
